Interactive Aircraft Walk-arounds
Before each flight, pilots must perform a preflight inspection, which involves an aircraft walk-around to determine if the aircraft is airworthy. Exterior systems are inspected for security, safety, and operational reasons. Many of those aircraft systems are engineered to SAE International voluntary consensus standards. Now you can perform an aircraft walk-around in the simulation below to learn which SAE standards are associated with some of the most visible parts of the aircraft.
After the exterior walk-around preflight inspection, continue your journey inside the cabin and discover the SAE standards behind numerous some of the objects, which millions of passengers observe each time they fly.
Finally, virtually walk into the flight deck and discover the SAE standards used for the design of aircraft instruments and controls.
